Accertify Appoints Gregory Cornwell as Executive Vice President of Global Sales
Chicago, IL - March 31, 2009
Accertify, a provider of leading-edge fraud prevention solutions to e-commerce merchants, today announced the appointment of Gregory Cornwell as Executive Vice President of Global Sales. With nearly 10 years of experience working for payments industry leaders, Cornwell brings a proven track record in developing and implementing successful sales, vendor and relationship management, product development and key vertical strategies. Cornwell, filling a newly-created post, joins Accertify from RBS WorldPay.
At RBS, he was Executive Vice President of National Sales, managing a national sales group focused on card-not-present, retail, travel and entertainment and restaurant market sectors. Prior to that, he was at Chase Paymentech Solutions, where he managed all aspects of the JPMorgan Chase relationship and was responsible for strategic business development in key vertical markets.
At Chase Paymentech's predecessor, Chase Merchant Services, Cornwell managed a national sales team, created new products and built the company's market position in the recurring payments sector. He began his career in 1990 at Allstate Insurance, where he held several technology and marketing positions before being promoted to Senior Billing Manager. In this position he developed an electronic payment strategy that included the rollout of card acceptance countrywide, along with several ACH online payment options. Cornwell's team reduced the company's overall bad debt and increased customer satisfaction and retention.
"Gregory comes to Accertify with a stellar record of success," said Jeff Liesendahl, CEO of Accertify.
"His expertise in payments and deep understanding of this dynamic marketplace will play a key role in supporting our continued growth and dedication to meeting customer needs."
"In just 18 months, Accertify has established itself as the leader in online fraud prevention, attracting a growing list of impressive clients," Cornwell said.
"This momentum is the result of the company's focused leadership and a strong product offering in its Interceptas platform. I look forward to working with the Accertify team to help build on these accomplishments and assist merchants in combating fraud."
Accertify, Inc. is the first company to focus on developing fraud prevention tools and strategies from the perspective of merchants that accept 'card not present' transactions. That focus led to the development of Interceptas®, which applies state of the art automation to every step in the merchant's process of managing credit card fraud exposure. Accertify exemplifies a constant commitment to maintaining the best in fraud prevention strategies, and its management team combines complementary skills from fraud management, business software development, accounting and legal to assure that its customers receive the most comprehensive, cost-effective solution to credit card fraud available.
